Terms of Service

Please read the following general policies that apply to your order. These general policies, along with others, are outlined in the Terms of Use agreement, which can be found on this page below and is enclosed with your order.

Product Types (Standard vs Amazon / GS1 Verified)

Barcodes Pro offers two different categories of barcode products:

Standard (one-time purchase, no renewals, instant delivery) and Amazon (GS1 Verified) (GS1 workflow and typically includes annual renewal fees).

No conversions: these are different products and are not interchangeable. Purchases cannot be converted between Standard and Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans.

If your marketplace/program requires GS1 verification or a GS1 certificate, you must purchase an Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan.

Return / Refund Policy

Standard Barcode Packages (one-time purchase): due to the nature of unique digital goods, Standard orders are generally non-refundable after barcodes have been assigned or delivered. We do this to help ensure that each number is unique and has not been previously issued to another customer. Any replacement or refund is provided only at the sole discretion of Barcodes Pro.

Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans: these plans involve a GS1-related workflow and may include third-party services and fees. Refunds may be limited or unavailable once processing has started or third-party costs have been incurred, or once identifiers/certificates have been assigned or delivered. Canceling a renewal/subscription stops future renewal charges but does not retroactively refund fees or work already performed.

No conversions: purchases cannot be converted between Standard and Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans.

Amazon (GS1 Verified) Barcode Plans: Separate Product

Barcodes Pro offers two different categories of barcode products:

Standard (one-time purchase, no renewals) and Amazon (GS1 Verified) (requires GS1 registration and typically includes annual renewal fees).

These are different products and are not interchangeable. Standard orders cannot be converted into Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans, and Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans cannot be converted into Standard orders.

Refunds / replacements: a Standard order is not eligible for a refund or replacement solely because you later discover Amazon (or another marketplace) requires GS1 registration for your use-case. If you need GS1 registration/verification, you must purchase the appropriate Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan.

Third-party services / our role: Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans involve third-party services and fees (GS1 registration and related services). As part of these plans, Barcodes Pro acts as an independent service provider to assist with the GS1-related administrative steps (for example, collecting information, helping with registration, and delivering GS1-related artifacts such as certificates and assigned identifiers). Refunds may be limited or unavailable once processing has started or third-party costs have been incurred. Canceling a renewal/subscription stops future renewal charges but does not retroactively refund third-party services or fees already provided or incurred.

Trademarks / no affiliation: “Amazon” is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. “GS1” is a registered trademark of GS1 AISBL. Other product names, brand names, and marks are the property of their respective owners. Use of these names is for identification and compatibility description only. Barcodes Pro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon or GS1.

File Formats for Barcodes

Barcodes, including but not limited to GTIN numbers, will be provided to you in a compressed ZIP archive format. This compressed file will contain a spreadsheet listing your assigned number(s) in .CSV and .XLS formats, and a bundle of graphics/artwork to use your bar code numbers.

Artwork will be provided in a vector graphics format, which can be re-scaled to any resolution or size in any professional layout program, including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Artwork will be provided as a graphics file, whether in .PNG or vector .SVG graphics format.

Barcodes Pro recommends that you print the GTIN numbers and Artwork on a laser printer at a resolution of no less than 600 dots per inch. Barcodes Pro recommends that you print GTIN numbers and Artwork in black ink on a white background to ensure that the GTIN numbers and Artwork remain high-contrast and can be read by a scanner.

Warranties and Representations

Standard Barcode Packages: Barcodes Pro warrants that you will be issued unique GTIN number(s) allocated from our inventory of legacy prefix allocations (including prefixes obtained from the UCC (now known as GS1-US) prior to the 2002 UCC Class Action Lawsuit) and that Barcodes Pro will maintain an internal database of the GTIN number prefixes and assignments provided through the Website.

Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans: Barcodes Pro acts as an independent service provider to assist with GS1-related administrative steps (for example, collecting information, helping with registration, and delivering GS1-related artifacts such as certificates and assigned identifiers). We do not guarantee the policies or acceptance rules of any third-party marketplace.

Marketplace requirements: some retailers and programs require GS1 verification/registration or a GS1 certificate. If GS1 verification is required for your use-case, you must purchase an Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan. Examples include (but are not limited to) the following:

Barcodes Pro as a Standard Barcode Reseller

For Standard Barcode Packages, Barcodes Pro operates as an independent barcode reseller. We allocate unique GTIN number(s) from our inventory of legacy prefix allocations (including prefixes obtained from the UCC (now known as GS1-US) prior to the 2002 UCC Class Action Lawsuit) and record assignments in our internal registry at the time of issuance.

This section is here because "barcode reseller" can mean very different things. Here is how Barcodes Pro operates for Standard Barcode Packages:

Barcodes Pro is a verifiable, registered business entity and sells through our official website (not exclusively through auction marketplaces).

Barcodes Pro provides working support contact details (email and a physical address; phone support where available).

Barcodes Pro provides a clear description of how barcode numbers are allocated/issued and maintains recordkeeping that supports assignment history.

Barcodes Pro sells Standard barcodes through barcodes.pro and provides customer support for order records and assignment history.

If your marketplace/program requires GS1 verification/registration or a GS1 certificate, Standard is not the correct product for that requirement; you must purchase an Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan.

Acceptance on Amazon

Important: Marketplace requirements can vary by program, category, and region and can change over time. Standard barcodes are not GS1 registered/verified. If Amazon (or another marketplace) requires GS1 verification for your listing, you must purchase an Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan. Orders cannot be converted between Standard and Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans.

Standard Barcode Packages: Standard barcodes are issued as unique identifiers and recorded in our internal registry at the time of issuance. We do not control Amazon's internal systems or enforcement. If you believe your Standard barcode has been fraudulently duplicated/used by a third party, contact us with the details; after verification, we may provide replacement barcode(s) and, in limited cases, a proportional refund at the sole discretion of Barcodes Pro.

Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans: These plans are designed for use-cases that require GS1 registration/verification or a GS1 certificate. Barcodes Pro acts as an independent service provider to assist with GS1-related administrative steps and to deliver the related artifacts (such as certificates and assigned identifiers). We do not guarantee acceptance by Amazon or any third-party marketplace, and refunds may be limited once processing has started or third-party costs have been incurred.

Seller responsibility: You are responsible for verifying the requirements of your Amazon seller program and listing category before purchasing any barcode product.

Common reasons a listing may be blocked (even with valid barcodes)

Brand Registry / gated programs

Some Amazon programs or categories may require GS1 verification/registration and/or other brand documentation. Requirements are controlled by Amazon and may change. If GS1 verification is required, purchase an Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan.

Selling major brands

Amazon may restrict listings that use brand names you do not own or have authorization to use. A valid barcode does not override brand authorization rules.

Bundles / multipacks

Amazon may enforce specific rules for bundles and multipacks (including brand field requirements). Review Amazon's current guidance for your category and program.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Barcode Packages: Standard orders are typically fulfilled automatically and delivered immediately. Once barcodes have been assigned or delivered, cancellation is not available.

Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans: if your plan includes a subscription/renewal, you may cancel to stop future renewal charges. Cancellation does not retroactively refund fees or work already performed and does not reverse identifiers/certificates already delivered. Refund availability (if any) depends on processing status and any third-party costs already incurred.

No conversions: purchases cannot be converted between Standard and Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans.

Terms of Use

Definitions

All barcode numbers, whether UPC or EAN codes or numbers, will hereinafter be referred to as “GTIN number(s)”.

The machine-readable two-dimensional geometrical representation of a barcode will hereinafter be referred to as “Artwork”.

“Standard Barcode Package” means a one-time purchase barcode package fulfilled by Barcodes Pro (typically instant digital delivery) that is not GS1 registered/verified.

“Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan” means a barcode plan that includes a GS1-related workflow and related deliverables (for example, GS1 certificates and assigned identifiers) and may include annual renewal fees.

“GS1 Verified” is used as a product label to describe compatibility with GS1 verification requirements; it does not imply endorsement by GS1. “GS1” is a registered trademark of GS1 AISBL. “Amazon” is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Barcodes Pro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon or GS1.

Purchaser and User Eligibility

Use of the Website is void where prohibited. Those who use the Website (hereinafter “Visitors”), those who register for a user account on the Website (hereinafter “Registered Users”), and those who purchase barcodes or other goods or services through the Website (hereinafter “Purchasers”) agree to be bound by and will abide by this Terms of Use agreement. Visitors, Registered Users, and Purchasers are hereinafter collectively known as “Users” for the purposes of this Terms of Use agreement.

Competency of Users

You hereby affirm that you are either over the age of 18, an emancipated minor, or accessing the Website with the consent of your parents or guardian. You hereby affirm that you are fully competent and able to assent to the terms, conditions, obligations, affirmations, representations, and warranties set forth in this Terms of Use agreement, and that you will abide by and comply with this Terms of Use agreement.

Registered User and Purchaser Data

Registered Users and Purchasers agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about you and/or your business where requested by Barcodes Pro. Registered Users and Purchasers agree to maintain and expeditiously update all information about you and/or your business. Registered Users and Purchasers agree to maintain the security of your username and password, and you hereby acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for any and all use of your user account, whether authorized or unauthorized, and for any actions that occur using your user account.

Protection of Children

Barcodes Pro and the Website does not knowingly target, market to, or collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you are a parent who believes that Barcodes Pro may have collected personal information from your child, please notify Barcodes Pro immediately at info@barcodes.pro.

Privacy Policy

Barcodes Pro hereby incorporates its Privacy Policy into this Terms of Use agreement.

Rights to the Website

Barcodes Pro owns the Website, including without limitation the text, software, scripts, graphics, photos, music, videos, interactive features, and other associated content, as well as their selection and arrangement. Barcodes Pro also owns any and all trademarks, service marks, designs, and logos that are contained on the barcodes.pro Website or associated materials. The barcodes.pro Website is subject to copyright, trademark, trade secret, and all other intellectual property rights.

The Website may not be used, modified, copied, distributed, framed, reproduced, republished, downloaded, scraped, displayed, posted, transmitted, or sold in any form or by any means, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of Barcodes Pro.

Registered User and Purchaser Accounts

Registered Users and Purchasers have the right to appoint others to act as their agents to use the Website. You agree and warrant that any user that you authorize to have access to your Registered User or Purchaser account is your authorized legal agent and has the capacity to enter into a contractual relationship with Barcodes Pro. You herby agree that you are responsible for any and all access to the Website by those that have access to your account, whether authorized or unauthorized. You bear the responsibility of controlling access to your Registered User and/or Purchaser account and of protecting your username and password.

You hereby agree that you will hold Barcodes Pro harmless for any access to your account, whether authorized or unauthorized.

Fair Use of Order Management Tools

As part of your order, Barcodes Pro may provide self-service management tools, including (but not limited to) downloading digital deliverables, submitting product name/description change requests, and submitting other order-related update or indexing requests.

These tools are provided for reasonable, human use. To protect service availability and prevent abuse, Barcodes Pro may apply rate limits, queues, manual review, and other controls, including temporarily or permanently blocking access by account, device, or IP address.

Examples of prohibited or unfair use include automated/bot activity, excessive repeated download attempts, repeated or duplicative change requests, attempts to bypass technical limits, or activity that interferes with service for other customers.

Barcodes Pro may deny, delay, or require verification for any request, and may suspend access to management tools in cases of suspected abuse. Such enforcement does not create a right to a refund.

Limited License to Use Website

Barcodes Pro grants you a limited license to use and access the Website for your own personal non-commercial use. Any other use of the Website is prohibited.

Republishing, incorporating, or otherwise using Barcodes Pro’s Website without the prior written authorization of Barcodes Pro is prohibited. You may not use data mining, robots, scraping, or any other data gathering or extraction methods on the Website.

You hereby agree and warrant that you will not modify the Website or otherwise make derivative works of the Website.

You hereby agree and warrant that you will comply with this Terms of Use agreement and with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations, including but not limited to copyright law.

The limited license granted under this Terms of Use agreement will automatically terminate if you breach the terms and conditions of this agreement.

Barcodes Pro’s Trademark Rights

Barcodes Pro’s trademarks and trade dress, including but not limited to Barcodes Pro, are common-law or registered trademarks, trade dress, or trade names in the United States and are used and prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the United States. You are prohibited from using Barcodes Pro’s trademarks, trade names, or trade dress as an indicator of source or as a part of a domain name that is likely to cause consumer confusion. You may not use Barcodes Pro’s trademarks, trade names, or trade dress without the prior written consent of Barcodes Pro.

Warranties and Representations Concerning Website

The Website is offered on an as-is basis. Barcodes Pro does not make representations or warranties of any kind concerning the Website, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or the absence of latent or other defects, accuracy, or the presence or absence of errors, whether or not discoverable. Some jurisdictions do not allow an exclusion of implied warranties. If you are located in such a jurisdiction, this exclusion may not apply.

Barcodes Pro is not responsible for any third-party application, software, or any other content posted on the Website. Barcodes Pro does not assume responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, destruction of identity, unauthorized access to a registered user or purchaser account, or alteration thereof.

Barcodes Pro reserves the right to discontinue the Website at any time and for any reason.

Warranties and Representations Concerning Goods and Services Sold Through Website

Barcodes Pro undertakes no responsibility for the quality of the goods or services sold thorugh this Website except as otherwise provided in this terms of use agreement. The goods or services sold through the Website are sold as-is.

You hereby understand and agree that you will not resell any and all GTIN numbers or Artwork issued by Barcodes Pro to a third-party.

You further hereby understand and agree that some retailers, marketplaces, and seller programs may require GS1 registration/verification or a GS1 certificate for certain listings. Standard Barcode Packages are not GS1 registered/verified. If GS1 verification is required for your use-case, you must purchase an Amazon (GS1 Verified) plan. Purchases cannot be converted between Standard and Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans. While Barcodes Pro takes its best efforts to provide guidance, you hereby understand and agree that Barcodes Pro will not be held liable or obligated to refund your purchase of goods or services through the Website for the failure of any third-party to accept GTIN numbers, Artwork, or related artifacts.

Barcodes Pro warrants that it will forward any information or communication that it receives concerning your GTIN numbers or your Artwork to you provided you have provided Barcodes Pro with timely contact information.

Barcodes Pro retains all of its rights under the law to prosecute the unlawful use of or pirating of GTIN numbers or Artworks that utilize prefixes issued by Barcodes Pro.

Limitation of Liability

You hereby understand and agree that Barcodes Pro will not be liable to you on any legal theory for any and all damages that arise out of the use and license of the Barcodes Pro Website, including but not limited to special damages, incidential damages, consequential damages, punative damages, or exemplary damages. You understand and agree that Barcodes Pro will only be liable to you for the amount paid for the Website, product, or service, and in no case will that amount exceed $1,000. If no amount is paid by you to Barcodes Pro, you agree that you will be limited to injunctive relief only unless otherwise permitted by law.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of damages or limitations of implied warranties. If your state does not allow the exclusion or limitation of damages or limitations of implied warranties, you should seek legal counsel to understand your legal rights under the law of your state.

Indemnification

You understand and agree that you will hold harmless, indemnify, and defend Barcodes Pro, including its members, agents, and employees, from and against all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debts, and expenses, including but not limited to attorney's fees, that arise from your use or access of the Website, your violation of this Terms of Use agreement, your purchase of products or services from Barcodes Pro, your violation of the rights of a third party, or your violation of any intellectual property rights. This obligation to hold harmless, indemnify, and defend Barcodes Pro will survive the failure or termination of this Terms of Use agreement, your use of the Website, or your purchase and use of any products or services purchase from Barcodes Pro.

Assignment

You hereby understand and agree that you may not assign your rights or obligations under this Terms of Use agreement. Barcodes Pro may assign its rights and duties under this agreement at any time, including but not limited to a sale of the Website and its associated content by Barcodes Pro.

Additional Terms and Conditions

A finding that any term or provision of this Terms of Use agreement is invalid or unenforceable will not affect the validity or enforceability of this agreement. Any term or provision of this agreement that is found to be invalid or unenforceable will be reformed to the extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

You understand and agree that no term or provision of this agreement will be deemed to have been waived and no breach will be deemed to have been consented to unless said waiver or consent is in writing and signed by the party to be charged.

This Terms of Use agreement and the Privacy Policy incorporated by reference constitute the entire agreement between you and Barcodes Pro with respect to the Website and any goods or services purchased from Barcodes Pro. You understand and agree that there are no further understandings, agreements, or representations with respect to the Website or any goods or services sold through the Website that are not specified in this Terms of Use agreement. You understand and agree that any additional provisions that may appear in any communication from you will not bind Barcodes Pro.

Barcodes Pro and you both agree that any cause of action arising out of or related to the Website or any product or service purchased through the Website must commence within one year after the cause of action accrued. Failure to assert said cause of action within one year will permanently bar any and all relief.
