How to Buy a Barcode

To get a barcode for your product please follow the following steps:

  1. Go to Pricing.

  2. Select a package which fits best to your needs or manually add the needed quantity to your cart.

  3. Fill your first and last names, company name, your product names for which you are buying a barcode, and the email to which we will send the barcode (If you need to buy more than 5 barcodes, you need to register).

  4. Checkout and make a payment.

  5. Wait for your barcode: it would take 5-10 seconds to get back to your order page and also to get an email from info@barcodes.pro with your order details and download link. All UPC and EAN barcodes will be sent in SVG, PNG image formats and in XLS, CSV spreadsheets.

  6. After you get your barcode, you can edit the name, detailed information and specifications of your product on the Barcodes Pro Database (GEPIR) if you are a registered user on Barcodes Pro.

Barcodes Pro - GTIN Standards

Barcode Standards

The 13-digit EAN-13 European Article Number as a GTIN standard consists of these three main components.

UPC

The Universal Product Code (UPC) is a barcode symbology that is widely used in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries for tracking trade items in stores.

EAN

The European Article Number (EAN) is a Global Trade Item Number standard describing a barcode symbology and numbering system. It's used in global trade to identify a specific retail product type, from a specific manufacturer.

GTIN

Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) can be used by a company to uniquely identify all of its trade items. GTIN describes a family of EAN and UPC global data structures. For North American companies, the UPC is an existing form of the GTIN.

Barcodes Pro - GTIN Structure

Barcode Structure

The 13-digit (EAN European Article Number) and 12-digit UPC (Universal Product Code) as a GTIN standard consists of these three main components.

Company prefix code

The first digits of the Barcode identify the Barcodes Pro Member Organization (not necessarily where the product is actually made).Note that EAN-13 codes beginning with 0 are actually 12-digit UPC codes with prepended 0 digit.

Product code

The product code is assigned by the manufacturer. The product code immediately follows manufacturer code. The total length of manufacturer code plus product code should be 9 or 10 digits.

Check digit

The check digit is an additional digit, used to verify that a barcode has been scanned correctly.
