At Barcodes.pro, we are introducing a major update to how we serve sellers: we now offer two barcode product types:
Standard plans
Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans
This update was driven by marketplace policy changes, especially on Amazon, where many sellers now face stricter GTIN verification checks depending on listing type, category, and brand setup.
Why this change was needed
Amazon now commonly routes sellers through one of two listing approaches:
GTIN Exemption / generic listing setup
Brand/registry setup where GTIN and company details are checked against GS1-related records
Because of this, one barcode product model is no longer enough for all sellers. Some use cases still fit Standard barcodes perfectly, while others require GS1-verified workflow and ongoing registration.
What is new
Barcodes.pro now separates barcode products clearly:
1) Standard plans (unchanged)
Standard plans continue to work exactly as before:
One-time purchase
Instant delivery
No annual renewal fees
Same pricing and same services as before
If you are selling in channels that do not require GS1 verification for your listing type, Standard remains the right option.
2) Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans (new product line)
Amazon plans are built for sellers who need GS1-verified compatibility for their listing requirements.
These plans include:
GS1-related registration workflow
Annual renewal model to keep registration active
Customer-facing order tracking from pending to fulfilled
Subscription management portal access from your account/order flow
This is a separate product category from Standard plans.
Updated pricing model
With Amazon (GS1 Verified) plans, pricing is now structured differently from Standard:
You pay an upfront total that includes initial setup/registration plus first-year renewal
Renewal fees then apply on a yearly cycle to keep the registration active
In practical terms, this is a registration/maintenance model, not the one-time transfer model used by Standard plans.
New order experience for Amazon plans
To make the process transparent, Amazon plan orders now show clear status progression:
Pending: your order is received and in process
Fulfilled: your order has completed fulfillment and deliverables are available
You can also use your subscription management portal entry point directly from your order/account pages for renewal and subscription actions.
What stays exactly the same
This launch does not change your existing Standard barcode offering.
Your current Standard expectations remain unchanged:
Same products
Same pricing
Same service model
So if your business use case does not require GS1 verification, you can keep using Standard exactly as before.
How to choose the right plan
Use Standard when:
You need one-time barcode purchase
Your channel/use case does not require GS1 verification
Use Amazon (GS1 Verified) when:
Your listing requirements or marketplace rules call for GS1-verified compatibility
You need an ongoing registration model with annual renewal
If you are unsure, start by checking your marketplace/category listing requirements first, then choose the matching plan type.
Final note
This change gives sellers a clearer and safer choice: one option for one-time Standard barcode needs, and a dedicated option for GS1-verified marketplace requirements.
